San Francisco...

There were big expectations for our arrival into San Francisco, so you can imagine our disappointment when we rushed outside to be greeted with a heavy fog.
Like a welcoming committee the seals barked at us whilst lounging around on the markers, and a playful whale frolicked in the water to the delight of everyone.
Slowly the Golden Gate Bridge came into view, shrouded in a fog that gave no indication of lifting.  I could hear mumblings behind me saying that this is a normal San Fran morning.  Once under the bridge and into the bay it became a little clearer.  Passing iconic landmarks like Alcatraz, The Presidio, Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 we started to get excited about what we had in store.
Originally scheduled for pier 27, we actually docked at pier 35, which we found to be more convenient.  This would be our home for the next two nights…... yippee, we love overnighters and a double-bunger was too good to be true…
With the negative reputation that comes with American Immigration, it actually was quite painless and although we queued just before docking we managed to get through in the first two groups.
Our day was starting with a city tour, and although this was one of those drive by tours with a couple of photo stops, it actually created a great foundation for the next couple of days.  Following the route on my map I was able plan our next two days in visiting the places we wanted to return to. We also picked the brain of our local guide for anything we were not sure of.
Instead of writing about each day I will write about each place we visited.
And so it is “Sea La Vie” from the beautiful Sun Princess.
