Chowdering Down at Fishermans Wharf

On our free night in San Fran, even though we have a ship load of free food, six of us ventured out for dinner.

After a quick walk around Fisherman’s Wharf the debate started… “you choose, no you choose, no you choose” Finally we chose. Nicks Lighthouse, there were buckets of fresh crabs out the front, packed with people inside and the nautical meets Italy theme décor won us over.  It was delicious crab and fish all round. What it lacked on service it made up in atmosphere. If you caught the attention of a waiter, he couldn’t speak English; if you found one that spoke English, half way through your request he had to race off with the promise that he would be back,  hmmm yeah right…

Sitting in booths so tight you couldn’t move, plates crashing to the floor around us, a waiter walking around to each table showing off a lobster the size of a five-year-old.  What more could you want.

Sensing that we were Australian, tips were hand written on the bottom of the bill.  If it was based on service, we would not have left anything, but the entertainment alone was worth it…
